Dental IT Field Technician
About The Position
Information Technologist Opportunity – Our Best Life Companies We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused on-site IT Support Specialist with 3–5 years of hands-on experience supporting desktop environments, networks, and end users. Candidate would provide advanced technical support to end users and internal teams for a Dental Service Organization (DSO) with 11 active offices in California and Indiana. The ideal candidate should have solid understanding of potential hardware and software issues and ability to troubleshoot them, administering user accounts, as well as resolving escalated technical incidents on-site as well remotely. Experience in healthcare environment and understanding of HIPAA regulations is preferred. This role requires strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and experience supporting Windows PCs and Windows Servers, Microsoft Office 365 platform, limited Google Workspace and limited MAC support, networking, and endpoint management technologies.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of professional experience in desktop support, field service, or systems support.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, switching, routing, and wireless networking.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, and network equipment.
- Proficiency supporting Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365.
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and user administration.
- Strong hardware troubleshooting skills for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
- Experience with remote support tools and ticketing systems.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple support requests in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between office locations.
Nice To Haves
- Experience supporting dental or healthcare environments.
- Knowledge of dental practice management software and digital imaging systems.
- Basic experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Strong understanding of backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Experience with endpoint security and antivirus platforms.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft certifications are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, and peripheral devices.
- Provide onsite and remote technical support for end users, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365 applications, and common business software.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot wired and wireless network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPN connections.
- Monitor network performance and proactively identify potential issues.
- Install, maintain, and support VoIP phone systems and network-connected devices.
- Deploy and image workstations and manage hardware lifecycle replacements.
- Support dental software, imaging systems, and associated hardware.
- Perform user account administration, password resets, and Active Directory management.
- Install security patches, software updates, and firmware upgrades.
- Document technical issues, resolutions, network diagrams, and inventory.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors for hardware, software, ISP, and telecommunications support.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA security standards and company IT policies.
- Participate in after-hours maintenance and occasional emergency support as needed.
