Dental Hygienist - Part-time PT and FT Full-Time
About The Position
Concerned Dental Care of Port Jefferson is seeking a skilled and compassionate Part-Time Dental Hygienist to join their Port Jefferson team. This role offers consistency, flexibility, and a positive, team-driven environment. There is an opportunity to expand into a full-time schedule by adding 1-2 days at nearby locations: Now Dental of Smithtown, Concerned Dental Care - Farmingville, and Concerned Dental Care - Richmond Hill. The practice is modern, patient-centered, and equipped with digital charting (Denticon) and updated technology, allowing hygienists to focus on quality care and strong patient relationships.
Requirements
- Associate degree or higher from an ADA-accredited dental hygiene program (required)
- Active New York State dental hygiene license and CPR certification (required)
- 1+ year of experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome
- Local anesthesia certification (preferred)
- Strong communication skills and a patient-first mindset
- Team-oriented, dependable, and detail-focused
Nice To Haves
- 1+ year of experience preferred

Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive hygiene care including cleanings, scaling, root planing, and fluoride treatments
- Educate patients on oral health, prevention, and long-term care
- Capture and interpret digital x-rays
- Identify periodontal and restorative needs and collaborate with the dentist
- Conduct oral cancer screenings and thorough assessments
- Maintain accurate records and ensure OSHA/HIPAA compliance
- Create a comfortable, positive experience for every patient
