About The Position

Florida Dental Centers is seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Dental Hygienist to join our growing team in Pinellas Park, Florida. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in promoting oral health, educating patients, and helping create positive dental experiences for every patient who walks through our doors. Through the delivery of periodontal therapies and other hygiene-related services, Dental Hygienists are committed to improving the oral health of patients. Candidates must be enthusiastic about their dental work, and willing to provide the highest level of care at all times. Under limited supervision, the Dental Hygienist provides oral hygiene dental treatment and oral hygiene care and education in accordance with guidelines approved, issued, and regulated by the state in which they work.

Requirements

  • Active Florida Dental Hygienist license in good standing.
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply; one year of clinical experience is preferred.
  • X-ray certification preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Passion for patient education and preventive dentistry.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional patient care and service.
  • Active Hygiene license for the state you applied, required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive dental cleanings and periodontal maintenance procedures.
  • Conduct oral health assessments and document findings accurately.
  • Take digital radiographs (X-rays) and assist in treatment planning.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care.
  • Apply fluoride treatments, sealants, and other preventive services as appropriate.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records and clinical notes.
  • Collaborate with doctors and team members to ensure an outstanding patient experience.
  • Follow all infection control and sterilization protocols to maintain a safe clinical environment.
  • Patient screening, medical history and dental charting.
  • Application of fluoride and protective sealants.
  • Removal of calculus, stain and plaque from above and below the gum line.
  • Provides nutritional counseling, and self-care programs to prevent disease.
  • Other duties as assigned
