About The Position
Under supervision of a qualified Dentist, assesses patient needs, and plans and delivers direct dental care and associated services to clinic patients. Utilizes established dental hygiene protocol and procedures. Performs some clerical duties related to the dental program.
Requirements
- Certificate or Diploma representing the successful completion of an Associates or Bachelor’s degree from a Dental Hygiene program accredited by the American Dental Association Council on Dental Accreditation.
- Licensure as a Dental Hygienist in the State of New Mexico.
- BLS/CPR certification.
- New Mexico Certification for Local Anesthesia for Dental Hygienist (must obtain within six months of hire).
- Compliance with required testing and immunizations including TB, Hepatitis B (consent or waiver), Tdap, MMR, and Varicella.
- Influenza vaccines will be required according to dates set by the CDC and NMDOH.
