Our Skourtes Tower facility in the Robertson Life Sciences Building houses both our School of Dentistry and our patient clinics, providing sweeping views of the city and an unmatched setting for education, research, and exemplary oral health care. The OHSU School of Dentistry is looking for a registered Dental Hygienist for the OHSU Dental Clinics located at the OHSU Russell Street Dental Clinic in North Portland as well as at the School of Dentistry on the South Waterfront. The Dental Hygienist, under the supervision of a licensed dentist, trains patients in dental hygiene and renders preventive and therapeutic oral prophylaxis. Some employees in this class provide chair side dental assistance and, if licensed for expanded functions, may take patient x-rays and administer local anesthetic agents. The selected candidate will split their time between the Russell St. Clinic and the School of Dentistry.

Requirements

  • Licensed by the Oregon Board ofDentistry as a Dental Hygienist
  • BLS Certificate issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Demonstrable record of reliable attendance, punctuality and proven successful performance at past and present employers
  • Demonstrated exemplary tact, discretion, confidentiality and diplomacy
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write and understand written and oral instructions in English
  • Demonstrated record of exemplary customer service

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene
  • Minimum 1 year of Dental Hygiene experience
  • Experience working in a public health dental clinic
  • Teaching/Education of Hygiene students

Responsibilities

  • Train patients in dental hygiene
