About The Position

Health Care Partners of South Carolina (HCPSC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) located in Conway, SC, near Myrtle Beach. With multiple locations across three counties, HCPSC provides comprehensive primary and preventive care, dental services, lab testing, and pharmacy options to patients of all ages, regardless of their financial, cultural, or geographic background. The organization is dedicated to breaking down barriers to care and fostering a welcoming environment that respects patients' values. The Dental Hygienist will be a vital part of the mission-driven dental team, contributing to exceptional oral health care and overall patient well-being. This role involves working within a multidisciplinary care team to deliver patient-centered oral health services, acting as an educator, advocate, and partner in patients' health journeys. The position focuses on prevention, early intervention, and patient empowerment, aiming to reduce oral disease and improve quality of life for a diverse patient population, including those facing access barriers.

Requirements

  • Current state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
  • Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of an FQHC, including serving underserved populations.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish or English/another language) preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with tele dentistry platforms and remote patient education tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality preventive and therapeutic dental hygiene care in a supportive, team-based environment.
  • Build long-term relationships with patients, guiding them toward healthier habits and improved oral health outcomes.
  • Participate in integrated care initiatives, where oral health is recognized as an essential part of whole-person health.
  • Engage in community outreach programs, school-based screenings, and public health education efforts.
  • Take, process, and interpret dental radiographs in accordance with state regulations.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, nutrition, and disease prevention tailored to their individual needs.
  • Collaborate with dentists and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
  • Maintain strict compliance with infection control protocols and OSHA standards.
  • Participate in community outreach events, school-based programs, and oral health education initiatives.
  • Monitor and maintain dental hygiene equipment and instruments, ensuring proper sterilization and functionality.
  • Perform other duties that are reasonably related to your role and consistent with your skills and experience to support team goals, respond to changing business needs, or address unforeseen challenges.
