About The Position

Rocking Horse Community Health Center (RHCHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides healthcare services to the Clark and Madison County communities. The organization is looking for a full-time Dental Hygienist to join our Pediatric Dentist at the Rocking Horse Clinic located at Springfield High School. The Dental Hygienist is responsible for following all OSHA standards, sterilization of instruments, and the cleaning and routine maintenance of the clinic and equipment. Must maintain accurate dental records and assist the dentist and dental assistant during down times as needed. This opportunity has a generous compensation package.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited hygiene program
  • Possess a valid Ohio license to practice dental hygiene
  • Ability to work in a team environment and maintain good working relationships with co-workers and patients
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and staff
  • Ability to motivate patients
  • Ability to prepare and maintain charts, records, logs, and reports
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, customers and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variable in standardized situations
  • Knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the role of Federally Qualified Health Centers as a safety net for all persons without regard for their ability to pay for services
  • Appreciate patient-centered care in a medical home

  • Staff is required to understand the privacy policies and procedures
