About The Position
Heck Family Dentistry is looking for a full-time Dental Hygienist to join their team in Lawrence, Kansas. The practice is committed to helping patients who may be nervous or anxious about dental care, making the hygiene team incredibly important. The ideal candidate will provide excellent clinical care while creating a calm and comfortable experience for patients.
Requirements
- Active Kansas Dental Hygienist license
- Strong clinical hygiene skills
- Excellent patient communication
- Gentle, confident, and compassionate chairside manner
- Ability to make anxious patients feel comfortable
- Reliable and organized
- Strong attention to detail
- Team-oriented approach
- Commitment to patient education and prevention
- Comfortable working in a comprehensive dental practice

Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive preventive dental hygiene care
- Perform adult and pediatric prophylaxis
- Complete periodontal assessments and charting
- Provide scaling and root planing when indicated
- Take diagnostic dental x-rays
- Educate patients about periodontal health, home care, and preventive treatment
- Help patients understand recommended care
- Partner closely with our dentists and clinical team
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation
- Follow infection control and safety standards
- Create a calm and comfortable experience for patients, including those with dental anxiety
