ASDOH - Dental Hygienist
About The Position
A.T. Still University's Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH) is seeking a full-time, non-exempt Dental Hygienist on the Mesa, Arizona campus. This role involves the direct provision of oral health services within the scope of dental hygiene practice, adhering to Arizona laws and regulations in ASDOH campus clinics. Responsibilities include performing dental prophylaxis, scaling and polishing teeth, taking radiographs and vital signs, documenting oral conditions, providing preventive oral health services, patient education, taking impressions, and offering nutritional counseling. The position also requires practicing universal precautions and appropriate infection control, providing administrative support, and assisting faculty and/or student dentists with procedures and complex treatments. Additionally, the Dental Hygienist will assist with medical emergency interventions for adverse patient events and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)
- Highly skilled in dental hygiene practice as allowed by Arizona laws and regulations
- At least one year of experience in dental hygiene practice
- Arizona Dental Hygiene License
- Team-oriented, strong mentoring skills, and personable
Responsibilities
- Direct provision of oral health services in the scope of dental hygiene practice in accordance with Arizona laws and regulations in ASDOH campus clinics as assigned
- Dental Prophylaxis, scaling and polishing of teeth
- Radiographs

- Documentation of existing oral conditions
- Preventive oral health services

- Traditional or digital impressions
- Nutritional counseling
- Practice universal precautions and appropriate infection control
- Provide associated administrative support
- Provide chairside assistance to faculty and/or student dentists in the performance of special tests, procedures and complex treatment
- Assist with medical emergency interventions for adverse patient events
- Other related duties as required or assigned
