About The Position

Punta Gorda Dental Care is looking for a Dental Hygiene Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time opportunity for a caring, detail-oriented dental professional. The Dental Hygiene Assistant will work closely with dental hygienists to support patient care, ensure the smooth operation of the hygiene department, and contribute to a positive patient experience. Requirements

• Previous dental assisting experience preferred, especially experience working with a hygiene team
• X-ray certification required or willingness to obtain certification
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
• Team-focused with a positive attitude
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced dental environment

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with dental software, especially Dentrix

Responsibilities

• Assist the dental hygienist with patient care and clinical procedures
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms
• Take dental X-rays as needed
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
• Follow all infection control and OSHA guidelines
• Provide patients with pre- and post-treatment instructions
• Help manage the hygiene schedule and maintain an efficient workflow
• Restock and organize hygiene supplies
• Assist with presenting treatment plans when needed
• Support other clinical team members as needed to ensure smooth patient care
