About The Position

The purpose of the Care Coordinator is to help patients feel comfortable in our practice and to assist them in reaching their dental goals by ensuring an efficient process from initial contact through scheduling, consultation, case presentation, and treatment. The Care Coordinator gives special attention to those considering or inquiring about the practice or services to help them become patients and support them every step of the way.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in the dental field.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Compliance with state dental practice requirements (i.e., x-ray requirements, OSHA training)
  • X-ray certification required (May be obtained within 6 months after hire)
  • CPR (BLS) Certification current
  • Superior interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A professional demeanor
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong time management abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively and contribute positively to a team environment

  • College credits and/or degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a trusting and supportive relationship with patients
  • Build the value of the patient's experience and service(s)
  • Take responsibility for the entire patient base
  • Welcome patients in person or on the phone, with a friendly positive demeanor
  • Maximize the doctor's schedule and production time
  • Take radiographs as needed
  • Create and present dental care treatment plans for patients
  • Ensure that patients are scheduled for dental hygiene and/or treatment at the conclusion of each appointment
  • Complete general scheduling, confirmation, and communication duties
  • Follow up with patients with diagnosed and unscheduled treatment
  • Prepares for visits by ensuring x-rays and other information have been received before the patient's arrival
  • Ensuring new patients have received new patient information and health history forms in advance of the initial visit
  • Verifying, and attaching, patient insurance information and that their plans are accurate and active
  • Confirm appointments (text or phone) before noon
  • Verify and confirm lab cases have been delivered before confirmation calls / reminders
  • Be an active participant in morning huddles, team meetings, as well as community engagement activities/opportunities
  • Promote team concept by interacting positively with others in the office
  • Be willing to offer help and be proactive in filling areas of need in the office
  • Communicate clearly with all staff in regard to absence
  • Seek out continuing education opportunities to improve skills
  • Other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor
