About The Position

Greater Maryland Oral Surgery is looking for a Dental Billing Clerk in Gaithersburg, Maryland to assist our clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment. As a Dental Billing Clerk, you are an integral part of the administrative team, helping ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our billing and insurance processes. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 1 year of dental billing, insurance coordination, or dental office experience
Knowledge of dental insurance claims processing and billing procedures
Experience with dental practice management software WinOMS preferred
Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in a patient-focused environment

Responsibilities

Process dental insurance claims, verify patient benefits, post insurance and patient payments, and follow up on outstanding claims and accounts receivable.
Prepare and review patient statements, explain treatment estimates and payment options, and assist patients with billing inquiries.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, assist with scheduling and patient intake as needed, and ensure all billing information is up to date.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow office billing procedures and workplace regulations.
Work closely with the clinical and front office teams to support smooth daily operations and provide a positive patient experience.
