Fortis Institute in Birmingham is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Program Director for the Dental Assisting program. Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Dental Assisting program resulting in a Certificate of Completion or Diploma.
• Expertise in interpersonal and verbal presentation/written communication skills.
• Ability to provide effective direction and leadership, and work effectively and collaboratively with others.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Dental Assistant, chairside.
• Prior postsecondary-related teaching experience of at least 2 years.
• RDA and/or CDA certifications.
• DANB RHS certification.
• X-ray Certified.

Nice To Haves

• An associate degree is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Dental Assisting program using sound business principles.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and company policies and procedures.
• Teach in the assigned discipline.
• Work with faculty to promote continuous improvement of instruction quality.
• Serve as the lead administrator for the department.
• Oversee faculty training and development.
• Coordinate and administer academic programs.
• Manage student outcomes and activities within the department.
