About The Position

South Texas Vo-Tech, part of Ancora Education, is hiring an instructor to deliver educational materials using sound educational practices that support students’ academic development. The instructor uses educational experiences to build knowledge and skills in students’ chosen fields and help them achieve their educational and career goals. The role promotes an engaging, dynamic, student-centered environment and provides support, tutoring, and other assistance as needed. Instructors model professional behavior and ethical conduct in alignment with Ancora Education’s mission and core values.

The instructor provides classroom and lab instruction, assesses student learning, manages the classroom, and ensures that course materials cover the learning objectives in each student’s program. The role also involves preparing and maintaining instructional materials and equipment, participating in faculty assessment and professional development, maintaining required credentials, contributing to meetings and reports, meeting deadlines, and complying with applicable regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of industry experience within the last 5 years.
• Where required, hold an active certification or licensure.
• Before beginning to teach, have documented prior teaching experience or complete new instructor training.
• Ability to qualify as an instructor under institutional and accreditation standards.

Nice To Haves

• Previous teaching experience in a proprietary education setting.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and accreditation regulations applicable to the proprietary education industry.

Responsibilities

• Use classroom and lab instruction, student assessment mechanisms, and classroom management techniques to provide an engaging educational experience.
• Ensure students are presented with material needed to meet the learning objectives of each course in their program of study.
• Ensure instructional materials and equipment are ready for student use, sufficient in quantity, properly maintained, and in working order.
• Participate in faculty assessment and professional development activities; maintain required certification and licensure.
• Participate in meetings, review and analyze assessment data, compile reports, and meet academic and administrative deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and regulatory guidelines and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
