About The Position

Fortis Institute in Towson, Maryland, is seeking an experienced and motivated Dental Assistant to teach in its Dental Assisting Program. This part-time professional faculty position reports directly to the Dean of Education. The primary responsibility is teaching Dental Assisting courses. The typical teaching load is two courses per term, with one or two course preparations. The instructor will also provide academic advising to students and participate in department training, meetings, and graduation.

Requirements

• Completion of a Dental Assisting program resulting in a Certificate of Completion or a Diploma.
• Current CDA and/or RDA certification.
• DANB RHS certification.
• Maryland Dental Radiation Technologist credential.
• CPR or BLS certification.
• At least three years of chairside clinical experience in four-handed dentistry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized, motivated, and results-driven.

Nice To Haves

• An associate degree is preferred but not required.
• Prior higher education or postsecondary teaching experience.

Responsibilities
