About The Position
We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic faculty member to teach in our Dental Assisting Program. This is a part-time, professional position reporting directly to the Dean of Education. The primary responsibility will be to teach Dental Assisting courses. The typical teaching load is two courses each term, with one or two preparations. Applicants will also be expected to provide academic advising to students, and participate in department training, meetings and graduation.
Requirements
- Registered Dental Assistant or Certified Dental Assistant certification
- DANB RHS certification
- 3 years of experience providing Chairside Dental assisting, including 4-handed and 6-handed dentistry techniques
- Knowledge of dental materials and instruments
- Knowledge of dental office emergency and procedures
- Knowledge of tooth morphology and anatomy
- Knowledge of Infection Control and OSHA standards
- Knowledge of dental office safety and sterilization procedures
- Professional communication skills
