About The Position

Fortis Institute in Lawrenceville, New Jersey is seeking an experienced, motivated Dental Assistant to teach in its Dental Assisting Program. The role offers the opportunity to support students’ success and career development. The typical teaching load is two courses per term, with one or two course preparations. The instructor also provides academic advising and participates in department training, meetings, and graduation. This is a part-time professional position reporting directly to the Dean of Education.

Requirements

• Completion of a Dental Assisting program resulting in a Certificate of Completion or Diploma.
• DANB RHS certification and a New Jersey Dental Radiology License/Technologist credential.
• CDA and/or RDA credential.
• At least three years of experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting, assisting with 4-handed or 6-handed dentistry techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized, motivated, and results-driven.

Nice To Haves

• An associate degree; preferred but not required.
• Prior higher education or postsecondary teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach Dental Assistant courses in the Dental Assisting Program.
• Provide academic advising to students.
