About The Position

Alderson, West Virginia is seeking a Dental Assistant to work Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The role requires specialty training from a licensed dentist and/or certification from an accredited Dental Assistant school, including training in dental radiology and radiology safety. Certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association is also required. A minimum of two years of experience providing Dental Assistant services is necessary.

Requirements

Specialty training from a licensed dentist and/or certification from an accredited Dental Assistant school.
Training must include dental radiology and radiology safety.
Certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
A minimum of two (2) years of experience providing Dental Assistant services.
Possessing a current and valid license/certificate from a United States jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

Providing chair side assistance to the dentist during restorative, prosthodontics, periodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery procedures.
Operating radiographic equipment, demonstrating proficiency in radiographic techniques, processing films and properly mounting them for interpretation while demonstrating current knowledge in radiographic safety measures.
Performing screening exams and charting existing conditions under a dentist's or physician's supervision.
Placing transitional restorations in emergency situations.
Taking preliminary prosthetic impressions and pouring models.
Removing sutures.
Delivering post-surgical care for alveolitis or persistent bleeding under the supervision of a dentist.
Responsible for re-cementation of fixed prosthodontics restorations under the supervision of a dentist.
Assisting with scheduling patients for the dental clinic via call outs.
Maintaining daily statistics of the patients seen in the dental clinic.
Scanning of medical records and reports as needed.
