About The Position

Dental Care of Michigan in Shelby Township, Michigan, is hiring a full-time Dental Assistant to collaborate with the practice team and provide clinical support. The role includes preparing patients for treatment, assisting dentists with restorative procedures, and helping maintain high standards of patient care and operational efficiency. The practice emphasizes empathetic patient care, teamwork, and improving oral health. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 8:45 a.m.–5:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. The practice is independently owned and operated by licensed dentists and receives non-clinical business support from North American Dental Group.

Requirements

Dental assisting certification or prior on-the-job training.
Radiography/X-ray certification applicable to the state.
Current CPR certification.
Proficiency in the MS Office Suite.
Commitment to exceptional service and patient education.

Nice To Haves

One to five years of experience is preferred; new graduates are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

Provide chair-side clinical support to dentists and hygienists, including charting, operatory setup and cleanup, and patient education.
Record and review patient health histories, make chart entries under the dentist’s direction, and ensure documentation is complete.
Prepare trays and instruments according to the daily schedule and procedure requirements.
Prepare patients for treatment and sterilize and disinfect instruments while maintaining asepsis in accordance with OSHA standards.
Assist with dental procedures, including exposing and developing diagnostic radiographs.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and other certification and safety requirements.
