About The Position

Community Health Service, Inc (CHSI) is seeking a Full-time Licensed Dental Assistant to join their Moorhead, MN team. CHSI's mission is to provide high-quality health care to the overlooked and underserved. CHSI is a private, non-profit organization established in 1973 to serve the health needs of migrant & seasonal farmworkers and their family members. Today, CHSI has expanded services and provides mental & physical healthcare to all individuals in our communities. Their services are provided on a more affordable sliding fee scale to those who are under-insured or un-insured. They also accept ND and MN Medicaid, Medicare, and most private insurance plans. They currently operate four nurse-managed clinics, two mobile medical units, and two victim advocacy program centers in Minnesota & North Dakota.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as dental assistant
  • Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
  • Good computer skills
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Well-organized and reliable
  • Having a MN Dental Assistant License is required
  • Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, and Infection Control training as required by law
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of all company policies and rules
  • Ability to bend and crouch occasionally, sit continuously, and stand or walk frequently.
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to use hands/arms, feet/legs for repetitive fine to large motor skill movements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Eagle soft is preferred but not required
  • Certified in MN or graduating from dental assistant school is preferred
  • Versed in Eagle Soft is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Sterilize instruments according to regulations
  • Undertake lab tasks as instructed
  • Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
  • Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
  • Manage inventory and ordering of supplies
  • Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures
