About The Position

The Dental Assistant supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; and performing procedures in compliance with Nevada dental standards. The role includes assisting the doctor with procedures, taking X-rays and intraoral images, assisting with prophylaxis cleanings, instructing patients on oral hygiene, charting cavities and teeth with the doctor, sterilizing instruments, preparing and breaking down rooms, and charting patient treatment and treatment plans. Requirements

Certification from a dental college, or three to six months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Nevada X-ray certification or affidavit.
BLS certification.
Four-hour Infection Control certification.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist the doctor in procedures.
Take X-rays.
Take intraoral images (IOs).
Assist with prophylaxis cleaning of teeth.
Instruct patients on oral hygiene.
Chart cavities and teeth with the doctor.
Sterilize instruments.
Set up and break down rooms and prepare them for treatment or hygiene.
Chart patients’ treatment and treatment plans with the doctor.
Prepare treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; pass instruments and materials; and perform procedures in compliance with Nevada dental standards.
