Dental Assistant (Oral Surgery)
About The Position
Leading Edge Oral Surgery is hiring a Dental Assistant for its Huntington practice. The role supports the Oral Surgeon during procedures and helps provide compassionate, high-quality patient care in a modern practice with state-of-the-art technology. Prior dental assisting experience, including previous oral surgery experience, is required. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at 790 New York Ave, Suite 100, Huntington, NY 11743. The practice describes its environment as modern, supportive, and focused on patient health rather than sales or production quotas. Team members are encouraged and supported in their career growth. The stated New York salary range is $25–$27 per hour. Benefits are available to full-time employees working 30 or more hours per week, with some benefits also available to part-time employees.
Requirements
- Prior dental assisting experience.
- Previous oral surgery experience.
- Any certification or license required by the state to perform specified duties.
- A resume demonstrating a consistent and stable employment history.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to deliver exceptional patient experiences.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and help them feel comfortable and confident throughout their visit.
- Support the Oral Surgeon with various procedures.
- Take digital radiographs, CBCT scans, and intraoral scans as prescribed.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with infection-control requirements.
- Sanitize and prepare operatories for treatments.
- Follow OSHA and safety policies.
- Educate patients on effective oral hygiene strategies as needed.
- Undertake office tasks as needed to support smooth practice operations.
