Dental Assistant
About The Position
Mid America Health is seeking a full-time Dental Assistant to join its Ohio team at the Correctional Reception Center in Orient, Ohio. The position is scheduled for 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. It offers a low-stress alternative to private practice dentistry and emphasizes work/life balance. The role involves providing care to an underserved correctional population and includes both administrative work and routine chairside duties. Administrative responsibilities are a significant focus, and training in this area will be provided. Chairside care includes preventive, restorative, extraction, and prosthodontic services, with very limited endodontics and no orthodontics or crown and bridge work required. The facility is smoke-free.
Requirements
- Current CPR certification for Healthcare Providers.
- Active Ohio Dental Radiographer license.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience is strongly preferred.
- Certificate from an accredited dental assisting program is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform administrative duties; training will be provided.
- Perform routine chairside duties involving preventive, restorative, extraction, and prosthodontic care.
- Provide very limited endodontic care.
