About The Position

Espire seeks a passionate dental professional who enjoys their work and is willing to build trusting relationships with patients and team members while helping provide excellent patient outcomes. The Dental Assistant supports dentists and hygienists, contributes to patient care and infection control, maintains dental equipment and supplies, and helps patients understand oral health and follow postoperative instructions. The position includes training, which may require travel.

Requirements

• Familiarity with dental equipment and instruments.
• Experience using digital technology and electronic medical records.
• Willingness and ability to participate in training, which may include travel.
• Willingness to build trust with others.
• Passion for dental work and commitment to providing good patient outcomes.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Cerec, 3Shape, and intraoral scanning.
• Experience with sedation and dental implant placement and restoration.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for dental work.
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials, and assist with infection control and dental procedures.
• Assist dentists in managing medical and dental emergencies when necessary.
• Assist dental hygienists with procedures when necessary.
• Provide patient care.
• Record treatment information in patient records.
• Expose dental x-rays for diagnostic purposes and care for dental x-ray equipment.
• Give patients information on dental hygiene, oral health care, and plaque control programs.
• Collect and record medical and dental histories and patient vital signs.
• Provide postoperative instructions as directed by the dentist.
• Care for dental equipment.
• Form preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting study casts.
• Order dental supplies and maintain dental equipment inventory.
• Fabricate temporary restorations and custom impressions from preliminary impressions.
