About The Position

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential opportunity for a civilian Dental Assistant at Vandenberg Space Force in Santa Barbara County, California. The position is in an outpatient clinic and is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week W-2 employee opportunity. It offers a stable patient population and does not require nights, weekends, or holidays.

Candidates must meet one of the listed education, certification, and experience pathways, and all training must include specified radiography coursework. At least two years of prior dental clinic experience and Basic Life Support certification are required.

Spectrum Healthcare Resources provides staffing and management services to military and VA health systems, VA clinics, and other federal agencies. It is a Joint Commission Certified Health Care Staffing Services firm and the federal staffing division of TeamHealth.

Requirements

• All training must include coursework in radiation physics; radiation biology; radiation health, safety, and protection; X-ray films and radiographic film quality; radiographic techniques; darkroom and processing techniques; film mounting; and digital radiographic processing techniques.
• Meet one of the following qualification pathways: a CODA-accredited dental assistant/technician certificate or associate degree and 12 months of experience within the preceding 24 months; certification from a military dental technician or dental assistant school and 12 months of experience within the preceding 24 months; certification from a Red Cross Dental Assistant course and 12 months of experience within the preceding 24 months; 36 months of experience within the preceding 48 months as a dental assistant in a private practice or military clinic; or good-standing membership in the American Association of Dental Assistants with required continuing education and 12 months of experience within the preceding 24 months.
• At least two years of prior dental clinic experience.
• Basic Life Support certification.
