About The Position

High Tech Dentistry in Westfield, New Jersey, is seeking a Temporary Dental Assistant for a short-term opportunity with consistent scheduled hours. The role pays $30–$32 per hour and is scheduled Monday from 12 PM to 8 PM, Tuesday from 9 AM to 5 PM, and Thursday from 12 PM to 7 PM. The Dental Assistant prepares patients, instruments, treatment rooms, and equipment for dental procedures; takes diagnostic digital images as prescribed by dentists; maintains patient records; and supports patient comfort and satisfaction. The assistant must follow applicable infection-control, OSHA, HIPAA, clinical, and state-scope-of-practice requirements, and contribute to a respectful, collaborative workplace. This position is non-exempt.

Requirements

At least one year of dental assisting experience.
Current CPR certification.
Other state license or certification requirements based on the state of employment.
Adhere to OSHA guidelines, HIPAA Privacy Policy, and clinical operating procedures.
Positively contribute to a respectful and collaborative working environment.

Nice To Haves

Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet and prepare patients for treatment in a timely, pleasant, and professional manner.
Sterilize and prepare instruments for tray setups before dental procedures.
Take diagnostic digital imaging as prescribed by the dentists.
Practice within the legal scope of assistant duties, with or without certification, depending on state regulations.
Maintain meticulous records on patient charts and documents.
Set up and break down rooms according to infection-control protocols between patients.
Communicate patient and equipment needs with co-workers.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Practice Leader and/or Dentist.
Work with and maintain all dental equipment.
Facilitate patient comfort, care, and satisfaction in a professional manner.
Present to work during scheduled shifts.
