About The Position

Brewster Pediatrics is seeking a Dental Assistant in Brewster, New York, to support the clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction in a team-based environment. The role involves preparing treatment rooms, assisting dentists during procedures, supporting patient education and comfort, performing radiography and diagnostic tasks, maintaining accurate records, and following infection control, confidentiality, and workplace safety requirements.

Requirements

Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program or one year of on-the-job experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.

Responsibilities

Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
Welcome, comfort, and educate patients about oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
Follow infection control protocols, protect patient confidentiality, and comply with workplace regulations.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake when needed.
Help the dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supplies, and an emergency telephone directory.
