About The Position

The Dental Assistant provides assistance during examinations and oral surgery treatment of detainees. The role supports dental procedures, imaging, clinic sanitation, screening, appointment scheduling, and recordkeeping while maintaining compliance with company policies and accreditation requirements. The position is with GEO Secured Services.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent certification.
Graduate from an accredited dental assistant program.
Current license or certification, where applicable, to practice in the state where the facility is located; maintain a current copy of the license on file at the facility.
At least 21 years of age.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of one year of experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred.

Responsibilities

Sterilize instruments in the dental office and lay out tools and instruments needed for scheduled procedures.
Provide chair-side assistance by keeping the operating field clear, passing instruments, and suctioning.
Mix restorative materials as required.
Assist with taking intra-oral and extra-oral X-rays as requested; develop and mount X-ray films.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the dental clinic according to OSHA standards.
Perform dental screenings and schedule appointments as necessary.
Maintain dental charts and record dental findings.
Schedule patients for dental appointments.
Prepare the patient's schedule for the escort officer.
Maintain compliance with company policies for accreditation.
Perform other duties as assigned.
