About The Position

The Dental Assistant supports oral surgeons and helps ensure smooth clinic operations. The role involves assisting during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment, and adhering to patient-care standards. Candidates with backgrounds such as LPNs, Medical Assistants, CNAs, Medical Technicians, Nurse’s Aides, Sterilization Technicians, Phlebotomists, and IV Technicians are encouraged to apply; training is provided. Prior dental or oral surgery experience is preferred, but not stated as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Reliable transportation.
• Motivation to learn, genuine interest in healthcare, and commitment to direct patient care.
• Basic computer literacy, including email and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong follow-through, effective communication, and reliability.
• CPR certification.
• Radiology certification, or ability to obtain it within six months of hire.
• NH MedTech certification for New Hampshire assistants only.
• Massachusetts Dental Assisting License for Massachusetts assistants only.
• Willingness to travel as required to support clinic operations.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in dental or oral surgery.
• Familiarity with Open Dental software.
• DAANCE certification, or ability to achieve it within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist chairside during a diverse range of dental surgical procedures.
• Prepare, break down, disinfect, and sterilize treatment rooms and instruments.
• Follow infection-control, CDC, OSHA, and HIPAA requirements.
• Capture radiographic images and maintain patient documentation.
• Provide patients with pre-operative and post-operative care instructions.
• Maintain accurate and thorough patient charting.
• Travel as required to support clinic operations.
