About The Position
Spectrum Healthcare Resources is hiring a civilian Dental Assistant to work at Naval Hospital Great Lakes in Waukegan, Illinois. The role is in a fast-paced military healthcare environment, providing care to Naval Cadets as part of a dedicated team. The position is a contract role, scheduled for 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Requirements
- Hold a certificate or associate degree in dental assisting from a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) of the American Dental Association (ADA), with at least 12 months of experience within the last 36 months; or have certification from a military dental technician or dental assistant school and 12 months of experience within the preceding 36 months.
- Dental office-trained candidates must have three years of experience and provide a letter from their current employer’s HR department listing job duties, including dental radiography.
- Have radiography certification and comprehensive training in radiation physics, biology, health, safety, protection, and digital radiographic processing techniques.
- Have one year of full-time experience as a Dental Assistant after graduation, or three years of full-time experience if trained in a dental office.
- Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Responsibilities
- Provide dental care and support to Naval Cadets at Naval Hospital Great Lakes.
- Perform dental radiography and use digital radiographic processing techniques.
