About The Position
The Smilist is seeking a friendly, dependable, and motivated Dental Assistant for its Blackwood/Washington Township, New Jersey practice. The role supports patient care and assists doctors in delivering efficient, high-quality dental treatment in a team environment. The schedule consists of two weekdays, Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., plus one rotating Friday or Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The posting describes this as 30 hours of work with 36 hours of pay and states that shifts are never on back-to-back workdays. Pay is $25.00–$30.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Prior dental assisting experience.
- An active New Jersey dental X-ray license.
- Knowledge of dental instruments, equipment, and procedures.
- Strong communication and people skills.
- Ability to work as an organized, dependable, detail-oriented team player.
- Positive attitude and ability to multitask in a busy dental practice.
Nice To Haves
- RDA or CDA certification.
- Dentrix experience.
Responsibilities
- Help patients feel comfortable, confident, and cared for throughout their dental visits.
- Assist doctors chairside to support efficient, high-quality dental treatment.
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
- Set up procedure trays and keep operatories stocked with supplies needed for the day.
- Help patients transition smoothly from treatment to the front desk.
- Support the team in delivering an exceptional patient experience.
