Dental Assistant
About The Position
Smile New York Outreach is hiring a Dental Assistant for its school-based mobile dental practice in Brooklyn, NY and surrounding areas. The role supports dental clinics at schools, providing care to underserved children in familiar school settings. The program uses portable dental equipment and transforms suitable school spaces into temporary dental offices. Work follows the school day, with an average schedule of approximately 8:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. and about six to seven hours per day. The position requires daily travel to school sites within the boroughs. Full-time and part-time positions are available.
Requirements
- Dental Assistant certification is preferred but not required.
- CPR certification card.
- Working experience as a Dental Assistant.
- Working experience with digital X-rays.
- Experience with patient charting, including paper forms and charting tooth surfaces.
- Valid ID and willingness to travel to schools within the boroughs.
- Works well with children.
- Team player able to work on a small team.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Nice To Haves
- Dental Assistant certification.
Responsibilities
