About The Position
The Orthodontic Dental Assistant supports orthodontic care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; and performing procedures in compliance with Arizona dental standards. Requirements
- X-ray certification.
- BLS certification.
- 8-hour Infection Control certification required.
- 2-hour Dental Practice Act.
- Certification from a dental college, three to six months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Assists the doctor in orthodontic procedures.
- Takes x-rays.
- Takes IOs.
- Assists in prophylaxis cleaning of teeth.
- Instructs patients on oral hygiene.
- Charts cavities and teeth with the doctor.
- Sterilizes instruments.
- Sets up, breaks down, and prepares rooms for treatment.
- Charts the patient's treatment and treatment plan with the doctor.
