About The Position
The Dental Assistant supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; and performing procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act. The role assists dentists, orthodontists, and anesthesiologists in delivering dental care. CHOICE Healthcare Services provides pediatric dental care and describes its office as modern, friendly, and supported by experienced leadership and a collaborative team.
Requirements
- X-ray certification.
- BLS certification.
- 8-hour Infection Control certification.
- 2-hour Dental Practice Act certification.
Nice To Haves
- Certification from a dental college, or three to six months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist the doctor with procedures.
- Take X-rays.
- Take IOs.
- Assist with prophylaxis teeth cleanings.
- Instruct patients on oral hygiene.
- Chart cavities and teeth with the doctor.
- Sterilize instruments.
- Set up and break down rooms and prepare them for treatment and hygiene.
- Chart patient treatment and treatment plans with the doctor.
