Dental Assistant
About The Position
Mid America Health is seeking a Dental Assistant to join its Ohio team at Trumbull Correctional Institution in Leavittsburg, Ohio. This full-time position is scheduled for 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The role offers an alternative to private-practice dentistry and involves caring for an underserved population. The position includes both administrative and routine chairside duties, with greater emphasis on administrative work; training in administrative duties will be provided. Chairside care includes preventive, restorative, extraction, and prosthodontic services. Endodontic work is very limited, and orthodontics and crown-and-bridge work are not required. The facility is smoke-free under ODRC policy.
Requirements
- Current CPR certification for Healthcare Providers.
- Active Ohio Dental Radiographer license.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience is strongly preferred.
- A certificate from an accredited dental assisting program is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform administrative duties; training in this area will be provided.
- Provide routine chairside care, including preventive, restorative, extraction, and prosthodontic care.
- Provide very limited endodontic care.
