About The Position
Jessie Albert Dental and Orthodontic Center (JADOC), a nonprofit clinic of Catholic Charities Maine, is hiring a full-time Dental Assistant to support patient care at its Bath clinic. The position follows a consistent four-day schedule, Monday through Thursday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The clinic serves children, adults, and vulnerable Mainers with compassionate, patient-centered care. The role offers a starting pay range of $20.00–$24.00 per hour, depending on experience, and opportunities to develop skills and build a long-term career in dental care.
Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma.
- Enjoy working with children and adults in a fast-paced environment.
- Good people, organizational, and lab skills.
- Good fine motor skills and dexterity.
- Ability to work as a team player.
Nice To Haves
- Maine certification in Radiography; preference is given to candidates with this certification.
- Experience in a dental office; exceptions may be made for candidates with excellent didactic and clinical skills.
- Experience with Dentrix and/or Dolphin.
Responsibilities
- Support dentists during patient care and treatment.
- Welcome patients, review medications, and take and record vital signs.
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments, supplies, and equipment while following clinical sterilization practices and OSHA-indicated safety procedures.
- Provide oral health education, nutrition guidance, and patient support as needed.
- Assist with clinical tasks such as retracting, irrigating, aspirating, and taking impressions.
- Help patients understand how to place and remove removable prostheses, appliances, and retainers.
