About The Position

Family Dentistry Associates of Johnstown is seeking a dependable, patient-focused Dental Assistant to support excellent patient care and keep the clinical day running smoothly. The role is based in a seven-operatory practice with one dentist and four hygienists, and involves assisting with a variety of dental treatments. The practice uses CEREC technology and has an in-office lab. This is a full-time position with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Hourly pay is based on experience.

Requirements

Pennsylvania dental radiography credential (PA X-ray certification).
Strong organization, communication, and teamwork skills.
A dependable work ethic and attention to detail.
A caring approach that helps patients feel at ease.

Nice To Haves

Previous dental assisting experience.
Experience with digital scanning or CEREC.

Responsibilities

Provide four-handed chairside assistance during exams, restorative procedures, extractions, root canals, and other treatments.
Prepare instruments, materials, equipment, and treatment rooms.
Take dental X-rays within your credentials and applicable state requirements.
Take impressions, digital scans, and intraoral photographs as directed.
Welcome patients, review medical histories as assigned, and help patients feel comfortable throughout treatment.
Reinforce patient education and post-operative instructions provided by the dentist.
Sterilize instruments, disinfect treatment areas, and maintain sterilization records.
Keep clinical supplies stocked and work areas organized.
Follow infection-control, safety, and patient-confidentiality protocols.
