Dental Assistant (Full-Time)
About The Position
CEC Health Care is seeking a compassionate and reliable Dental Assistant to join its community health center. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, CEC Health Care provides medical, dental, and behavioral health services to historically underserved members of the community. This role offers the opportunity to provide patient care and contribute to community healthcare. The position serves the Bethpage location and Glen Cove every other Wednesday. The full-time Monday–Friday schedule is Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9 AM to 5 PM in Bethpage; Wednesday from 9 AM to 5 PM, alternating between Glen Cove and Bethpage; and Friday from 8 AM to 6 PM in Bethpage. Pay is $29.00–$31.00 per hour. Requirements
- New York State Dental Assistant Certification.
- Ability to take dental radiographs (X-rays).
- Strong patient communication and customer service skills.
Nice To Haves
- Two or more years of dental assistant experience.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
Responsibilities
- Provide chairside dental assisting during procedures.
- Take and process dental X-rays in compliance with New York State regulations.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and treatment rooms.
- Assist with dental lab procedures.
- Maintain clinical supplies and dental equipment.
- Support patient scheduling and appointment confirmations.
- Communicate professionally with patients and caregivers.
