About The Position

The Dental Assistant supports the dentist and hygienist in providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients, with a focus on underserved children. The position includes documenting patient records, obtaining dental radiographs, maintaining accurate chart notes, educating patients and parents about oral health, and sterilizing instruments and workstations. The Dental Assistant also helps keep the practice clean and presentable and may perform other duties that support the business and its mission.

Requirements

Radiology education and training that meets state requirements.
Strong interpersonal skills, including a friendly, outgoing demeanor and the ability to actively listen to patients and parents.
Ability to multitask and complete dental tasks correctly and in a timely manner.
Current BLS CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of e-Clinical Works (eCW).
Previous experience working in a dental office.

Responsibilities

Collect and document clear, concise, and accurate patient records.
Obtain quality dental radiographs, including periapicals, bitewings, and panoramic images, as requested by the dentist.
Write accurate and consistent notes and ensure chart notes match services completed.
Build friendly relationships with patients and parents and educate them about good oral health.
Organize and sterilize dental instruments and workstations in accordance with OSHA standards.
Keep the practice clean and presentable, including cleaning restrooms and the patient lobby, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
Perform other duties that support the business and the mission of providing high-quality, compassionate dental, vision, and orthodontic services to underserved children.
