About The Position

Dental Associates of Florida - Polk Parkway is seeking a Dental Assistant in Lakeland, Florida. The Dental Assistant supports the clinical team and professional dental staff in delivering patient care and treatment in a team-based, patient-centered practice. The role includes supporting the office, providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction, and contributing to the practice’s mission of providing excellent dental care in the community.

Requirements

• Prior dental assisting experience.
• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program or six months of on-the-job experience with supporting documentation.
• X-ray certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.

Nice To Haves

• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Follow infection control protocols, protect patient confidentiality, and comply with workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake as needed.
• Help dentists manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supplies, and an emergency telephone directory.
