Dental Assistant (Part-Time) (Bilingual, Spanish)

About The Position

Kids Dental Place and Orthodontics in Van Nuys, California, is seeking a part-time Dental Assistant to support the dentist and hygienist in providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients. The role includes documenting patient records, taking dental radiographs as requested, maintaining accurate chart notes, and helping patients and parents understand good oral health. The Dental Assistant also sterilizes instruments, maintains clean work areas and patient-facing spaces, and performs other duties that support the practice’s mission of providing care to underserved children. The pay range is $18.47–$26 per hour.

Requirements

Radiology education and training that meets state requirements.
Strong interpersonal skills, including a friendly, outgoing demeanor and the ability to actively listen to patients and parents.
Ability to multitask and complete dental tasks correctly and in a timely manner.
Current BLS CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of e-Clinical Works (eCW).
Previous experience working in a dental office.

Responsibilities

Collect and document clear, concise, and accurate patient records.
Obtain quality dental radiographs, including periapicals, bitewings, and panoramic images, as requested by the dentist.
Write accurate and consistent notes and ensure chart notes match the services completed.
Build friendly relationships with patients and parents and educate them about good oral health.
Organize and sterilize dental instruments and workstations according to OSHA standards.
Keep the practice clean and presentable, including cleaning restrooms and the patient lobby, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
Perform other duties that support the mission of providing high-quality, compassionate dental, vision, and orthodontic services to underserved children.
