About The Position

Hero Practice Services is seeking a Dental Assistant for Kids Dental Place and Orthodontics in Van Nuys, California. The Dental Assistant supports the dentist and hygienist in providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients, including children in underserved communities. The position also involves supporting the practice and its mission through additional duties as needed.

Requirements

• Radiology education and training that meets state requirements.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including a friendly, outgoing demeanor and the ability to actively listen to patients and parents.
• Ability to multitask and complete dental tasks correctly and in a timely manner.
• Current BLS CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of e-Clinical Works (eCW).
• Previous experience working in a dental office.

Responsibilities

• Collect and document clear, concise, and accurate patient records.
• Obtain dental radiographs, including periapicals, bitewings, and panoramic images, as requested by the dentist.
• Write accurate and consistent notes and ensure chart notes match services completed.
• Build friendly relationships with patients and parents and educate them about good oral health.
• Organize and sterilize dental instruments and workstations according to OSHA standards.
• Keep the practice clean and presentable, including cleaning restrooms and the patient lobby, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
• Perform other duties that support the mission of providing high-quality and compassionate dental, vision, and orthodontic services to underserved children.
