About The Position

Seeking a full-time, experienced dental assistant who is passionate, responsible, and dependable. The dental assistant supports the dentist in the clinical treatment of patients, helps ensure a comfortable and smooth patient experience, and manages treatment room readiness, cleanliness, sterilization, and equipment maintenance. Knowledge of Dentrix is a plus.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience with general dentistry.
Knowledge of dental terminology.
Punctuality.
Knowledge of dental procedures.
Certification in polishing and sealants.

Knowledge of Dentrix.

Responsibilities

Greet patients when they sign in and monitor their arrival time.
Set up treatment rooms for procedures and escort and seat patients.
Show care and concern to help patients feel comfortable, and ensure patients are attended to.
Obtain and review health histories according to office protocol.
Anticipate and assist the dentist’s needs.
Ensure patients’ questions are answered thoroughly before they leave.
Chart patients and record the date, services rendered, and any charges.
Escort patients from the treatment room for a smooth transition to the front desk.
Ensure proper treatment notes are recorded in patients’ charts.
Perform clinical procedures as permitted by the practice act and as directed by the dentist.
Give patients instructions and demonstrate when necessary.
Monitor patient flow and notify the Treatment Coordinator if a patient should receive an evening follow-up call after a difficult appointment.
Keep dental units ready, stocked, and clean.
Maintain treatment-room cleanliness according to sterilization procedures and disinfect rooms in accordance with OSHA regulations.
Sterilize instruments and handpieces in accordance with OSHA regulations.
Keep trays, instruments, and treatment-room drawers organized.
Ensure the office sterilization procedures document is displayed.
Send out and monitor dental laboratory cases promptly, following office laboratory procedures.
Implement the preventative maintenance and cleaning schedule for dental equipment.
Maintain dental office emergency kits and nitrous and oxygen tanks.
