Requirements

  • NDAEB-Certified Level II Dental Assistant (required).
  • HARP Certification (required).
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, clinical procedures, and dental instruments/equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality care.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude with a passion for patient-centered care.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with orthodontics or pediatric dentistry is an asset.
  • Familiarity with dental software such as Open Dental, Dentrix, Tracker, Abeldent, or Paradigm is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during examinations, treatments, and a variety of clinical procedures.
  • Prepare, organize, and set up trays, instruments, and materials prior to procedures.
  • Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays) in compliance with HARP regulations.
  • Provide chairside support including suctioning, passing instruments, and ensuring patient comfort.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventive care, and post-operative instructions.
  • Sterilize instruments and maintain clinical operatory cleanliness according to infection control and IPAC standards.
  • Document patient care in the practice management system accurately and promptly.
  • Assist with impressions, whitening procedures, and other Level II duties as permitted.
  • Maintain inventory of dental supplies and report stock needs to the clinical lead or dentist.
  • Support a smooth and efficient patient flow throughout the day by collaborating closely with the dental team.
