About The Position

Nite Lines USA, established in 1994, is a dynamic and growing health care organization that provides contract support services to government institutions and medical treatment facilities. We are seeking professionals and dedicated individuals to join our team, upholding core principles of integrity, respect, accountability, and collaboration. This role is located at the Federal Correctional Institute (FCI) Tallahassee, FL.

Requirements

  • Certification from an accredited Dental Assistant school.
  • Training must include dental radiology and radiology safety.
  • Certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience providing chairside dental assisting services.
  • Must be a Registered Dental Assistant.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and track data and enter data into the agency’s electronic system and track scheduling of patient care.
  • Maintain knowledge and experience in maintaining patient medical records and confidentiality.
  • Assist Dental Officer in dental specialty sections: restorative, oral surgery, periodontics, prosthetics, and examinations.
  • Retrieve patient’s records and escort patients to the proper dental specialty section.
  • Assist Dental Officer by preparing dental instruments, essential materials, drugs, and medications.
  • Provide dental health education.
  • Perform dental prophylaxis.
  • Perform dental screening examination.
  • Prepare patients for periodontal surgery.
  • Perform dental and periodontal charting.
  • Prepare, place, and remove packs.
  • Place temporary fillings.
  • Place and remove rubber dams.
  • Clean, sharpen, and sterilize instruments.
  • Perform daily inspection of equipment and make minor repairs.
  • Report defective equipment or utilize corrective action.
  • Perform routine oral prophylaxis of the clinical crowns of teeth.
  • Use dental hand instruments, mechanical instruments (including ultrasonic), oral hygiene aides, and prophylaxis paste to provide necessary oral prophylactic services.
  • Select and apply medication in proper portion and anticariogenic agents to surface of teeth.
  • Fabricate and repair dental prosthesis and appliances under supervision.
  • Perform procedures pursuant to fabrication and repair of complete denture prosthesis and removable partial prosthesis.
  • Use acrylic resins and porcelain as basic materials.
  • Take radiographs of patients using standard and digital dental radiographic, panelist, cephalometric, and transcranial equipment.
  • Obtain diagnostic quality periapical, occlusal, lateral, jaw, TMJ, and pantographic radiographs.
  • Process and save digital radiographs to patient medical records.
  • Perform quality assurances on radiographic and developing equipment and safelight.
  • Maintain proper infection control procedures in radiographic techniques.
  • Sterilize contaminated biological waste of dental clinics.
  • Place and finish dental restorations, including bases and liners.
  • Make primary impressions and pour casts.
  • Select tooth shade for composite restorations and dentures.
