About The Position

Smile Exchange of Springfield is seeking a Dental Assistant who is committed to patient care and brings empathy, patience, and quick thinking to the role. The Dental Assistant works alongside the dentist during a variety of procedures and helps support patients and the day-to-day operation of the dental practice. The role may suit an experienced assistant or someone looking to enter the dental industry. An X-ray license is needed.

Nice To Haves

• 1–2 years of dental assisting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and ensure equipment is ready for dentists.
• Apply knowledge of general mouth anatomy and dental terminology.
• Understand crowns, fillings, extractions, root canals, and implants.
• Assist dentists during procedures by handing them instruments and anticipating their needs.
• Take and process patient X-rays.
• Perform laboratory tasks as instructed.
• Greet patients and schedule appointments.
• Advise patients on recommended oral hygiene.
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures.
• Communicate oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
• Handle general administrative duties and other tasks needed to maintain the practice.
