About The Position

Dental Specialty Center of Virginia Beach is seeking a Dental Assistant in Virginia Beach, Virginia, to support its clinical team and provide a high level of patient care and satisfaction in a team-based environment. The Dental Assistant supports the office and professional dental staff during treatment, contributing to the practice’s mission of providing excellent dental care and creating positive patient experiences. Prior dental assisting experience is required for consideration. The position is full-time, with a regular schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and one Saturday per month, 7:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The practice offers a modern office with advanced dental technology. Requirements

At least six months of on-the-job dental assisting experience, with supporting documentation.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection-control training as required by law.

Nice To Haves

X-ray certification is preferred.
Nitrous Oxide certification is recommended.

Responsibilities

Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
Follow infection-control protocols, protect patient confidentiality, and comply with workplace regulations.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake when needed.
Help the dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drugs and oxygen supplies, and an emergency telephone directory.
