About The Position

The Smilist is seeking a reliable, friendly, and motivated Dental Assistant to support its commitment to high-quality dental care and positive patient experiences. The role is based in Lawrence Township, New Jersey, and is full-time, Monday through Friday. The listed pay range is $25.00–$28.00 per hour. The Dental Assistant helps patients feel comfortable, prepares them for treatment, and assists doctors and hygienists during procedures. The role also includes maintaining a clean and sterile clinical environment, preparing treatment rooms and instrument trays, monitoring supplies, and following infection control and office safety protocols.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Dental Assistant.
Active New Jersey x-ray license.
Knowledge of dental instruments, equipment, procedures, and infection control protocols.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-focused approach.
Ability to work collaboratively with doctors and other team members in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Positive attitude, dependability, and willingness to learn and grow professionally.

Nice To Haves

Dentrix experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Help patients feel comfortable and confident during dental visits by addressing individual concerns and reinforcing trust in their doctor or hygienist.
Prepare patients for treatment and assist doctors and hygienists during dental procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile clinical environment.
Escort patients to and from the front desk to help ensure a smooth patient experience.
Prepare and organize instrument trays and treatment rooms for scheduled procedures.
Monitor operatory supplies, maintain adequate inventory, and assist with ordering and restocking.
Follow infection control, sterilization, and office safety protocols.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
