About The Position

The Smilist is seeking a reliable, friendly, and motivated Dental Assistant to support its team and provide exceptional patient care in a warm, welcoming, and professional environment. Based in Hoboken, New Jersey, this full-time role includes some required Saturday availability and pays $24.00–$28.00 per hour. The Dental Assistant helps patients feel comfortable during visits, prepares them for treatment, and assists doctors and hygienists with procedures while maintaining a clean, organized, and sterile clinical environment. The role also supports patient flow, instrument and treatment-room preparation, and clinical supply inventory.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Dental Assistant.
Active New Jersey x-ray license.
Knowledge of dental instruments, equipment, procedures, and infection control protocols.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-focused approach.
Ability to collaborate with doctors and other team members in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Positive attitude, dependability, and willingness to learn and grow professionally.

Responsibilities

Help patients feel comfortable and confident during dental visits by addressing their individual concerns and reinforcing trust in their doctor or hygienist.
Prepare patients for treatment and assist doctors and hygienists during dental procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile clinical environment.
Escort patients to and from the front desk and help ensure a smooth patient experience.
Prepare and organize instrument trays and treatment rooms for scheduled procedures.
Monitor operatory supplies, maintain adequate inventory, and assist with ordering and restocking.
Follow infection control, sterilization, and office safety protocols.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
