About The Position

The Dental Assistant assists the dentist with patients to ensure the highest quality of care. Under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist, the role performs clinical and technical procedures, prepares the patient operatory and equipment, and assists the doctor during examinations and treatment. The Dental Assistant communicates treatment needs to parents and patients using the prescribed treatment plan, supports patient comfort and safety, documents treatment, and helps maintain the office. The role provides superior support to doctors and demonstrates respect and care toward customers and office personnel.

Requirements

Licensed as a Registered Dental Assistant or Certified Dental Assistant.
CPR certification required.
Training from an accredited dental assistant school.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Computer literacy.
Ability to work independently and anticipate the needs of the team and doctor.
Respectful, kind, and considerate toward fellow team members, patients, and the doctor.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of dental assisting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Communicate treatment needs clearly and calmly to parents and patients using the prescribed treatment plan.
Recognize prior authorization requirements and ensure consent forms are signed.
Maintain awareness of patients’ comfort and safety needs.
Document all treatment rendered clearly and concisely using electronic and paper dental records and forms.
Perform general housekeeping and restock as needed.
Prepare the patient operatory and equipment and assist the doctor during examinations and treatment.
Provide support to doctors and demonstrate respect and care toward customers and office personnel.
